BioAgilytix appoints Christie Knittel Mabry as new Chief People Officer

Durham, NC, June 23, 2022 – BioAgilytix Labs, LLC (BioAgilytix), a leading global contract research organization focused on supporting pharmaceutical and biotech partners in all phases of drug development, has appointed Christie Knittel Mabry as Chief People Officer.

Christie joins the executive leadership team and will lead the people strategy across the business as well as help to shape and implement the company’s values and an integrated culture throughout the global organization to support its long-term sustainable growth and operational excellence.

She joins BioAgilytix after an extensive career working with companies and organizations across six different industries, and with the last 15 years in the life sciences. Christie most recently led HR for Global Quality, Regulatory CMC and Asset Development and Program Management for Biogen, a global biotechnology company. Other roles at Biogen included the head of HR for Global Manufacturing, as well as the head of global Leadership Development where she ran the global talent identification and succession planning processes, as well as the programs for key talent.

She said: “I am deeply curious about that which motivates and drives individuals and teams. Employees are definitely in the driver’s seat, and the implicit psychological employment contract – the deal between employees and organizations – is more balanced than ever, and this is very exciting. There really is a war for talent which is intense for scientific talent in the Research Triangle, Boston and San Diego as well as outside the US.”

“Scientific roles are hard to recruit for due to the highly skilled nature of the jobs, and so it is incumbent upon us to employ our best and most creative thinking, tools and best practices to find and get that talent in place. We have already assembled a global team to revamp our talent acquisition and talent and organizational development processes.”

Christie’s goals for 2022 include a hiring sprint to recruit new scientists to develop BioAgilytix’s assays – the pipeline for sample analysis – as well as strengthening the onboarding experience for new talent and programs focused on existing employee retention. In addition, her team will focus on targeted efforts to engage, develop, and grow talent.

Euan Menzies, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at BioAgilytix, said: “With Christie’s considerable international and sector expertise and experience, she has an important role at BioAgilytix as she focuses on several key recruiting and retention initiatives to support the next phase of our exciting development.”

Euan added: “Christie’s selection is one of a number of key appointments we will continue to make over the next few months as we strengthen the depth and experience of our senior team to support our ambitious growth plans.”

Christie is also a published author in the field of Human Resource Development and generational differences in the workforce and has presented her research at national and international research conferences. Her experience also includes HR roles with GE, a global organization with 350,000 employees, as well as running HR operations for a small entrepreneurial start-up. A Board-Certified Executive Coach, Christie holds her doctorate in Human Resource Development from North Carolina State University.
